Bu sefer basit bir elbise dikeceğim demiştim kendi kendime. Zaten vakit yoktu, bir gecede biçip dikmeliydim.Öyle fermuardı, düğmeydi uğraşmayacaktım da. Pijamadan hallice, rahat bir elbise olmalıydı. Bulduğum model de çok uygundu, ama bu sefer de kumaşın azlığı bozdu beni.

"I am going to sew an easy dress this time" I said to myself. I did not have time, so it had to be finished in one night. I would not mess with zippers or buttons either. It had to be a dress almost as comfortable as pyjamas. And the model i found was very appropriate. But i was stopped because of the lack of enough fabric this time.
Pinterest'te "color block dress" (blok renkli elbise) diye arama yaptım ve bu modeli beğendim. Elimdeki yeşil pazen kumaşın yanına parça halinde limon yeşili başka bir kumaş eklemeye karar verdim. İki kumaşı yanyana koyunca çok zıt durdular. Üçüncü bir kumaşı ekleyip o zıtlığı biraz yumuşatmak istedim. Üçüncü renk için adaylarım krem, toprak rengi ve hardal sarısı idi. Bu renkler elimde olan parça kumaşların ya da eski giysilerin renkleri :) Krem rengi eski bir etek, hardal sarısı eski bir elbise ve toprak rengi bir parça kumaşım vardı.

I searched for color block dress in Pinterest and liked this model. I decided to add lemon green fabric next to my green flannel. But they contrasted a lot when put side by side. So i wanted to soften this contrast with a third fabric. My candidates were cream, earth brown and mustard yellow colors. All pieces of fabric or old garment colors i have at home. I had an old cream skirt, an old mustard yellow dress and a little piece of earth brown fabric.
Yine denemeler yaptım. Ve yeşil pazen-limon yeşili-krem birleşimine karar verdim.

I did more experiments. And i chose green flannel- lemon green- cream combination.
Aman ne güzel, bunu seçtim de elbiseyi dikmek için gereken kalıbı nereden bulacağım? Burda'nın 2013/3 sayısından bir elbise modeli (110 no.lu) buldum. Yukarıdaki elbisenin yakası oldukça kapalı, benim bulduğum kalıbın yakası ise çok oyuk, hem de kısa kollu. Ben hala acemi bir terziyim, Burda'nın üç noktalı, ustalık gerektiren kalıplarına bulaşmıyorum bile. Ayrıca çok yavaşım. Neyime güvendiysem artık, kalıp değiştirmeye yeltendim...Uğraştım, parçalara ayırdım. Çok zorlandım itiraf ediyorum.

Very well, i have chosen this but how on earth am i going to find the right pattern to sew it? I picked up dress no. 110 from Burda 2013/3 volume. My inspiration dress has a closed round neck whereas my pattern has a wide neck and short arms.I am still a novice seamstress, i even stay away from Burda's advanced models with three stars. Besides, i am too slow. Whatever crazy confidence i relied upon, i had to alter the pattern...I fiddled with it, divided it into more pieces. I was very very challenged i must confess...
O kadar uğraşmaya ancak önünü dikebildim. Arkayı yeterse bir tek pazenle yapmak istiyorum. Kolları kesin karıştırmak zorunda kalacağım, daha o kadar uzun boylu düşünmedim.

After all this efforts, i could only sew the front. I want to do the back only with green flannel, if the fabric is enough. I know i will have to mix the arms for sure, but i haven't thought about them so far.
